1. When you come across an article–noun–participle construction (i.e., the participle is in the predicate position) and the participle does not make sense when you insert the is, the participle is usually adverbial.

2. Your normal definition of this word does not quite fit here. You can look up the word in a lexicon for a further definition, or in this case it is safe to modify the meaning you do know in light of the context.

What is different between this participle and ἐρχόμενον in sentence 1? Right. The preceding noun (παραλυτικόν) is anarthrous. So is αἰρόμενον functioning as an attributive or adverbial? In this case you must rely on the sense of the passage, and αἰρόμενον appears to be telling us something about the paralytic and not about the verb.

3. δίκαιος, -αία, -αιον, right, just, righteous.

4. διαθήκη, -ης, ἡ, covenant.

5. σπέρμα, -ατος, τό, descendant.

6. ὄρνεον, -ου, τό, bird.

7. κτῆνος, -ους, τό, domesticated animal.

8. κιβωτός, -οῦ, ἡ, ark.

9. δόμα, δόματος, τό, gift.

10. In this context κἄν can be translated as even though.

11. Hint: This is the perfect of a compound verb that added ιν to its root to form the present tense stem.
