I) Warm-up

α. τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ τηροῦμεν.[PAI-1P]
--- We are keeping his commandments.

β. οὐ ποιῶ[PAI-1S] τὰ ἔργα τοῦ πατρός μου.
--- I am not doing the works of the father of mine.

γ. ζητοῦσίν[PAI-3P] σε.
--- They are seeking you(sg.).

δ. ἀγαπᾷς[PAI-2S] με;
--- Are you loving me?

ε. τὸ σάββατον οὐ τηρεῖ[PAI-3S].
--- He/She is not keeping the sabbath.

ζ. τί λαλεῖς[PAI-2S] μετ᾽ αὐτῆς;
--- What (thing)/Why are you speaking with her?

η. ἀγαπῶμεν[PAI-1P] τὰ τέκνα τοῦ θεοῦ.
--- We are loving the children of the God.

II) Translation

1. Τί δέ με καλεῖτε· κύριε, κύριε, καὶ οὐ ποιεῖτε[PAI-2P] ἃ λέγω[PAI-1S];
--- But why are you calling me: "Lord! Lord!", and you(pl.) are not doing which (things) I am saying? 

2. οἱ μαθηταὶ εἶπαν (they said) αὐτῳ· διὰ τί ἐν παραβολαῖς λαλεῖς[PAI-2S] αὐτοῖς;
--- The disciples said to him: "Why in parables you(sg.) are speaking to them?"

 3. ἡμεῖς οἴδαμεν ὅτι μεταβεβήκαμεν (we have passed) ἐκ τοῦ θανάτου εἰς τὴν ζωήν, ὅτι ἀγαπῶμεν[PAI-1P] τοὺς ἀδελφούς.
--- We ourselves know that we have passed out of the death into the life, because we are loving the brothers.

4. ὁ πατὴρ ἀγαπᾷ[PAI-3S] τὸν υἱὸν καὶ πάντα δέδωκεν (he/she/it has given) ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ.
--- The father is loving the son and he has all (things) in his hand.

5. αὐτοὶ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου εἰσίν, διὰ τοῦτο ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου λαλοῦσιν[PAI-3P] καὶ ὁ κόσμος αὐτῶν ἀκούει[PAI-3S].
--- They are from the world, because of this they are speaking from the world and the world is hearing them.

6. σὺ πιστεύεις[PAI-2S] ὅτι εἷς ἐστιν ὁ θεός, καλῶς (well) ποιεῖς[PAI-2S]· καὶ τὰ δαιμόνια πιστεύουσιν[PAI-3P] καὶ φρίσσουσιν (they shudder).
--- You yourself are believing that the God is one, you are doing well; and the demons are believing and they shudder.

7. ὁ μὴ ἀγαπῶν (one who loves) με τοὺς λόγους μου οὐ τηρεῖ· καὶ ὁ λόγος ὃν ἀκούετε[PAI-2P] οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὸς.
--- The one who does not love me is not keeping my words; and the word which you(pl.) are hearing is not mine.

8. τί ποιοῦμεν[PAI-1P] ὅτι οὗτος ὁ ἄνθρωπος πολλὰ ποιεῖ[PAI-3S] σημεῖα;
--- What are we doing because this man is doing many signs? 

9. λέγει[PAI-3S] οὖν αὐτῷ ὁ Πιλᾶτος· ἐμοὶ οὐ λαλεῖς[PAI-2S]; οὐκ οἶδας ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχω[PAI-1S] ἀπολῦσαί (to free) σε καὶ ἐξουσίαν ἔχω[PAI-1S] σταυρῶσαί (to crucify) σε;
--- Then the Pilate is saying to him: "Are you not speaking to me? Do you not know that I have authority to free you and I have authority to crucify you?"

10. ἰδοὺ οἱ μαθηταί σου ποιοῦσιν[PAI-3P] ὃ οὐκ ἔξεστιν ποιεῖν (to do) ἐν σαββάτῳ.
--- Look! Your disciples are doing which (it) is not lawful to do in sabbath.

III) Additional

11. εἰ οὖν τὰς ἐντολὰς καὶ τοὺς νόμους τοῦ θεοῦ τηροῦμεν[PAI-1P], οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἔχομεν[PAI-1P] τὴν ἀγάπην τὴν μεγάλην αὐτοῦ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ἡμῶν.
--- Then if we are keeping the commandments and the laws of the God, we know that we have his great love in our hearts.

12. πῶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰ πολλὰ σημεῖα ποιεῖ[PAI-3S] ἃ βλέπετε; ἐπὶ τῇ ἐξουσίᾳ τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ ἁγιοῦ.
--- How is the Jesus doing many signs which you are seeing? On the basis of the authority of the Holy Spirit.

13. ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις οὐκ ἦν βασιλεὺς ἐν Ἰσραήλ· ἀνὴρ τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ ποιεῖ[PAI-3S].
--- In that day there was not a king in Israel; A man is doing the good (thing) in his eyes.

14. ἀκούεις μου, Ἰακώβ, καὶ Ἰσραήλ, ὃν ἐγὼ καλῶ· ἐγώ εἰμι πρῶτος καὶ ἐγώ εἰμι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
--- You are hearing me, Jacob, and Israel, whom I am calling: "I myself am first and I myself am into the eternity."

15. οὐ λαλεῖ]PAI-3S] περὶ ἐμοῦ καλά ἀλλὰ … κακά.
--- He/She is not speaking concerning me good (things) but ... bad (things).

16. εἰ οὖν Δαυὶδ καλεῖ[PAI-3S] αὐτὸν κύριον, πῶς υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἐστιν;
--- Then if David* is calling him^ Lord, how is he^ his* son?

17. τί οὗτος οὕτως λαλεῖ[PAI-3S];
--- Why this (man) thus speaks?

18. οἱ πάντες[NPM] γὰρ τὰ[APN] ἑαυτῶν[GPM] ζητοῦσιν[PAI-3P], οὐ τὰ[APN] Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ.
--- For all the people are seeking the (things) of their own, not the (things) of Jesus Christ.

19. ἃ ἐγὼ ἑώρακα (I have seen) παρὰ τῷ πατρὶ λαλῶ[PAI-1S]· καὶ ὑμεῖς οὖν ἃ ἠκούσατε (you heard) παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς ποιεῖτε[PAI-2P].… ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε τὰ ἔργα τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν.
--- What I myself have seen in the presence of  the father I am speaking; and then you yourselves are doing what you heard from the father. ... you yourselves are doing the works of your father.

20. καὶ κατεδίωξεν(sought intently) αὐτὸν Σίμων καὶ οἱ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ, καὶ εὗρον (they found) αὐτὸν καὶ λέγουσιν[PAI-3P] αὐτῷ ὅτι πάντες ζητοῦσίν[PAI-3P] σε.
--- And Simon sought him intently and the ones with him, and they found him and they are speaking to him that all (people) are seeking you.
