Chapter 24 習題解答

I) Warm-up

α. ἀυτὸς ἠγέρθη ἀπὸ τῶν νεκρῶν.

--- He himself was raised from the dead ones.

β. ἐκεῖ σοι λαληθήσεται περὶ πάντων.

--- There it will be said to you concerning all.

γ. κηρυχθήσεται τοῦτο τὸ εὐαγγέλιον.

--- This gospel will be preached.

δ. ἡ δὲ ἀπεκρίθη καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· κύριε.

--- But the one (she) answered and she is saying to him: "Lord!".

ε. ἐν τούτῳ ἐδοξάσθη ὁ πατήρ μου.

--- In this my father was glorified.

ζ. ὁ οἶκός μου οἶκος προσευχῆς (prayer) κληθήσεται.

--- My house will be called house of prayer.

η. ὅτε δὲ ἐξεβλήθη ὁ ὄχλος.

--- But when the crowd was cast out.

 

II) Translation

1. καὶ συνήχθησαν πολλοὶ … καὶ ἐλάλει αὐτοῖς τὸν λόγον.

--- And many were gathered ... and he was speaking to them the word.

2. ὁ δὲ ἀγαπῶν (one who loves) με ἀγαπηθήσεται ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου, κἀγὼ ἀγαπήσω αὐτόν.

--- But the one who loves me will be loved by my father, and I myself will love him.

3. Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις ἦλθεν Ἰησοῦς ἀπὸ Ναζαρὲτ τῆς Γαλιλαίας καὶ ἐβαπτίσθη εἰς τὸν Ἰορδάνην ὑπὸ Ἰωάννου.

--- And it happened in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of the Galilee and he was baptized into the Jordan by John.

4. ἤγαγεν αὐτὸν πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν.… ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· σὺ εἶ Σίμων ὁ υἱὸς Ἰωάννου, σὺ κληθήσῃ Κηφᾶς, ὃ ἑρμηνεύεται (is translated as) Πέτρος.

--- He brought him to the Jesus ... the Jesus said: "You yourself are Simon, the son of John, you yourself will be called Cephas, which is translated as Peter."

5. οὐκ ἔστιν ὧδε, ἠγέρθη γὰρ καθὼς εἶπεν.

--- He is not here, for he was raised just as he said.

6. Καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ, Ἰησοῦς δὲ ἐπορεύθη εἰς τὸ ὄρος τῶν ἐλαιῶν (olives).

--- And they came finally into his house, but Jesus went into the mountain of the olives.

7. ἔλεγεν γὰρ ὅτι ἐὰν ἅψωμαι κἂν (even) τῶν ἱματίων αὐτοῦ σωθήσομαι.

--- For she was saying that if I touched even his clothes I will be saved.

8. ὁ μὲν υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὑπάγει καθὼς γέγραπται (he/she/it is written) περὶ αὐτοῦ, οὐαὶ (woe) δὲ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι᾽ οὗ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται(he/she/it is betrayed)· καλὸν4 αὐτῷ εἰ οὐκ ἐγεννήθη ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος.

--- Indeed the son of the man is departing just as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man through whom the son of the man is betrayed; (it is) good to him if that man was not born.

9. πάλιν δὲ ὄψομαι ὑμᾶς, καὶ χαρήσεται ὑμῶν ἡ καρδία, καὶ τὴν χαρὰν ὑμῶν οὐδεὶς αἴρει ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν.

--- But again I will see you, and your heart will be made joyful, and no noe is taking your joy from you.

10. Καὶ ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν κρατῆσαι (to arrest), καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸν ὄχλον, ἔγνωσαν γὰρ ὅτι πρὸς αὐτοὺς τὴν παραβολὴν εἶπεν.

--- And they seek to arrest him, and they feared the crowd, for they knew that he said the parable to them.

 

III) Additional

11. ἐχάρημεν γὰρ ἐγὼ καὶ ἡ γυνή μου ὅτι μετὰ ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἕξομεν οἰκίαν ἐπὶ τοῖς ὄρεσιν τοῖς περὶ ταύτην τὴν πόλιν.

--- For I and my wife rejoiced because after seven days we will have houses on the mountains around this city.

12. ὅτε οἱ δοῦλοι τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν ταῖς συναγώγαις τὸ εὐαγγέλιον ἔκήρυξαν, τινὲς ἐκ τῆς πόλεως ἐβλήθησαν ὑπὸ τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ ἄλλοι ἀπεκτάνθησαν.

--- When the servants of the God preached the gospel in the synagogues, some men out of the city were seen by the Pharisees and other men were killed.

13. εἶδεν δὲ Ἰσραὴλ τὴν χεῖρα τὴν μεγάλην ἃ ἐποίησεν κύριος τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις, ἐφοβήθη δὲ ὁ λαὸς τὸν κύριον καὶ ἐπίστευσαν τῷ θεῷ καὶ Μωϋῇ τῷ θεράποντι αὐτοῦ.

--- But Israel saw the great hand, which things Lord did to the Egyptians, but the people feared the Lord and believed to the God and to Moses, his servant.

14. καὶ φοβηθήσονται τὰ ἔθνη τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου καὶ πάντες οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς τὴν δόξαν σου.

--- And the nations feared Lord's name and all the kings of the earth (feared) your glory.

15. καὶ εἶπεν Ἀδάμ· τοῦτο νῦν ὀστοῦν8 ἐκ τῶν ὀστέων μου καὶ σὰρξ ἐκ τῆς σαρκός μου, αὕτη κληθήσεται γυνή ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ ἀνδρὸς αὐτῆς ἐλήμφθη αὕτη.

--- And Adam said: "now this (is) bone out of my bones and flesh out of my flesh, she will be called woman because out of her husband this (woman) was taken."

16. καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν φόβον μέγαν καὶ ἔλεγον πρὸς ἀλλήλους· τίς ἄρα οὗτός ἐστιν;

--- And they feared a great fear and they were speaking to one another: "then who is this man?"

17. ὅσοι δὲ ἔλαβον αὐτόν, ἔδωκεν (he/she/it gave) αὐτοῖς ἐξουσίαν τέκνα θεοῦ γενέσθαι (to be), τοῖς πιστεύουσιν (those who believe) εἰς τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, οἳ οὐκ ἐξ αἱμάτων οὐδὲ ἐκ θελήματος σαρκὸς οὐδὲ ἐκ θελήματος ἀνδρὸς ἀλλ᾽ ἐκ θεοῦ ἐγεννήθησαν.

--- But whoever ones receive him, he gave them authority to be children of God, to the ones who believe into his name, the ones were born not out of bloods, nor out of wills of flesh, nor out of will of man, but out of God.

18. Μακάριοι οἱ πτωχοὶ τῷ πνεύματι

ὅτι αὐτῶν ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.

μακάριοι οἱ καθαροὶ τῇ καρδίᾳ,

ὅτι αὐτοὶ τὸν θεὸν ὄψονται.

μακάριοι οἱ εἰρηνοποιοί (peacemakers),

ὅτι αὐτοὶ υἱοὶ θεοῦ κληθήσονται.

--- The poor men in the spirit are blessed
because the kingdom of the heavens is their.
The clean men in the heart are blessed,
because they themselves will see the God.
The peacemakers are blessed,
because they themselves will be called sons of God.

19. οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ τῆς βασιλείας ἐκβληθήσονται εἰς τὸ σκότος.

--- But the sons of the king will be cast out into the darkness.

20. οὔπω γὰρ ἦν πνεῦμα, ὅτι Ἰησοῦς οὐδέπω (not yet) ἐδοξάσθη.

--- For there was not yet spirit yet, because Jesus was not glorified yet.
