I) Warm-up

α. ἀναβαίνοντες[PAP-NPM] εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα

--- While (they) going up into Jerusalem ...

β. εἶδον αὐτοὺς* ὑπάγοντας*[PAP-APM; Adjectival Ptc.].

--- I/They saw them departing.

γ. ἀπέστειλαν* πρὸς αὐτὸν καλοῦντες[PAP-NPM; Adverbial Ptc.]* αὐτόν.

--- They sent to him while they were calling him.

δ. προσῆλθον[AAI-3P] αὐτῷ* διδάσκοντι[PAP-DSM; Adverbial Ptc.]* οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς.

--- The high-priests came to him while he was teaching.

ε. καὶ καθήμενοι[PAP-NPM]* ἐτήρουν[IAI-3P]* αὐτόν.

--- And while they were sitting they were keeping him.

II) Translation

1. Ταῦτα εἶπεν[AAI-3S] ἐν συναγωγῇ διδάσκων[PAP-NSM] ἐν Καφαρναούμ.

--- He said these (things) in synagogue while teaching in Capernaum/

2. ἦλθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν κηρύσσων[PAP-NSM] τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ θεοῦ.

--- The Jesus came into the Galilee preaching the gospel of the God.

3. πολλοὶ ἐλεύσονται[FMI-3P] ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου λέγοντες[PAP-NPM] ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι.

--- Many will come on the basis of my name saying that I am.

4. ἐπορεύετο[AMI-3S] γὰρ τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ χαίρων[PAP-NSM].

--- For he went his way, rejoicing.

5. Παῦλος δὲ καὶ Βαρναβᾶς διέτριβον (they stayed) ἐν Ἀντιοχείᾳ διδάσκοντες[PAP-NPM] καὶ εὐαγγελιζόμενοι[PMP-NPM] μετὰ καὶ ἑτέρων πολλῶν τὸν λόγον τοῦ κυρίου.

--- But Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and evangelizing  the word of the lord with also many others.

6. Καὶ ἀναβαίνων[PAP-NSM] ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα παρέλαβεν[AAI-3S] τοὺς δώδεκα.

--- And while going up into Jerusalem, the Jesus took the twelve.

7. καὶ ἦλθεν[AAI-3S] κηρύσσων[PAP-NSM] εἰς τὰς συναγωγὰς αὐτῶν εἰς ὅλην τὴν Γαλιλαίαν καὶ τὰ δαιμόνια ἐκβάλλων[PAP-NSM]. Καὶ ἔρχεται[PMI-3S] πρὸς αὐτὸν λεπρὸς (leper) παρακαλῶν[PAP-NSM] αὐτόν.

--- And he came, preaching into their synagogues into all the Galilee, and casting out demons. And a leper is coming to him urging him.

8. Ὡς δὲ ἦν ἐν τοῖς Ἱεροσολύμοις ἐν τῷ πάσχα (Passover) ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ (feast), πολλοὶ ἐπίστευσαν[AAI-3P] εἰς τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, θεωροῦντες[PAP-NPM] αὐτοῦ τὰ σημεῖα ἃ ἐποίει[IAI-3S].

--- But as he was in the Jerusalem people in the Passover in the feast, many (men) believed into his name, seeing his signs which he was doing.

9. Τότε προσῆλθεν[AAI-3S] αὐτῷ ἡ μήτηρ τῶν υἱῶν Ζεβεδαίου μετὰ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτῆς προσκυνοῦσα[PAP-NSF] καὶ αἰτοῦσά[PAP-NSF] τι ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ.

--- Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons came to him, worshipping and asking something from him.

10. δικαιοσύνη* θεοῦ πεφανέρωται[RPI-3S] μαρτυρουμένη*[PPP-NSF] ὑπὸ τοῦ νόμου καὶ τῶν προφητῶν.

--- Righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the law and the prophets.

 

III) Additional

11. εὐαγγελίζοντες[PAP-NPM] τὸν λαὸν ἐν τῇ Ἱεροσόλυμα οἱ μαθηταὶ ἐδόξαζον[IAI-3P] τὸν Ἰησοῦν διὰ πάντα τὰ σημεῖα καὶ τὰς δυναμεῖς αὐτοῦ.

--- Evangelizing the people in the Jerusalem, the disciples were glorifying the Jesus because of all his signs and the wonders.

12. καθήμενος[PMP-NSM] σὺν τοῖς δυσὶν ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ οὗτος παρεκάλησεν[AAI-3S] τὸν ἀνδρὰ καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα ἀλληλοῖς λαλεῖν (to speak) ἐν τοῖς λόγοις τῆς ἀγάπης.

--- Sitting with the two in the church, this (man) exhorted the husband and the wife to speak with one-another in the words of the love.

13. ᾔδει γὰρ ὁ θεὸς ὅτι ἐν ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ φάγητε (you might eat) ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ διανοιχθήσονται(will be opened [FPI-3P]) ὑμῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί καὶ ἔσεσθε[FMI-2P] ὡς θεοὶ γινώσκοντες[PAP-NPM] καλὸν καὶ πονηρόν.

--- For the God has had known that in which ever day you might eat from it your eyes will be opened and you will be as gods, knowing good and bad (thing).

14. καὶ εἶπεν[AAI-3S] πρὸς τοὺς ἄνδρας· γινώσκουσα[PAP-NSF] γινώσκω[PAI-1S] ἐγὼ ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν παραδίδωσιν (he/she/it is handing over [PAI-3S]) ὑμῖν τὴν γῆν ταύτην.

--- And she said to the men: "Knowing, I myself am knowing that your God is handling over to you this land."

15. ποιοῦντες*[PAP-NPM] γὰρ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ Χριστοῦ εὑρήσομεν*[FAI-1P] ἀνάπαυσιν.

--- For (by) doing the will of the Christ we will find rest.

16. καὶ ἀπεκρίθη[API-3S] αὐτῷ εἷς ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου· διδάσκαλε, ἤνεγκα*[AAI-1S] τὸν υἱόν μου πρὸς σέ, ἔχοντα[PAP-ASM]* πνεῦμα ἄλαλον.

--- And one (man) out of the crowd answered to him: "Teacher! I brought my son, having  mute demon, to you."

17. ὀφθαλμοὺς ἔχοντες[PAP-NPM]* οὐ βλέπετε* καὶ ὦτα ἔχοντες[PAP-NPM]^ οὐκ ἀκούετε^;

--- Having eyes, are you not seeing and having ears, are you not hearing?

18. πολλὰ μὲν οὖν καὶ ἕτερα παρακαλῶν[PAP-NSM]* εὐηγγελίζετο[IMI-3S]* τὸν λαόν.

--- Now, indeed while exhorting many and other (things), he was evangelizing the people.

19. αὐτὸς*^ διώδευεν(go thru [IAI-3S])**^^ κατὰ πόλιν καὶ κώμην κηρύσσων[PAP-NSM]* καὶ εὐαγγελιζόμενος[PMP-NSM]^ τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ οἱ δώδεκα σὺν αὐτῷ.

--- He himself was going thru according to city and village, preaching and evangelizing the kingdom of the God, and the twelve with him.

20. Εἰσελθὼν (after entering) δὲ εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν ἐπαρρησιάζετο*^ (speak boldly) ἐπὶ μῆνας τρεῖς διαλεγόμενος[PMP-NSM]* καὶ πείθων[PAP-NSM]^ [τὰ] περὶ τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ θεοῦ.

--- But after entering into the synagogue he was speaking boldly on three months, arguing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of the God.
